Hello! Today a friend of mine wanted me to download some things for her, and because her internet is extremely slow. When I turned it on and attempted to connect to my router, it said that I have no valid IP configuration. I've tried going to cmd.exe and typing in ipconfig/release then ipconfig /renew, but it only resulted in it saying: "No operation can be preformed on Local Area Connection while it has its media disconnected"
Help me out? Here's the ipconfig /all.
Thanks in advance!

Nope, unfortunately. :C All the other laptops in my house work fine with my router, I don't know what's wrong with her laptop.

If it doesn't work wired or wireless it has to be something drastic like firewall stopping it from seeing the router and for it to be unable to allocate an IP address to the laptop. Can you momentarily swich off the firewall on the laptop (on the assumption there is one !!! ) and seee if that changes anything.... it may also be a good idea to just check the wired adapter i.e. ethernet is enabled (have to assume the wireless one will already have been enabled by default).

Hi noodi10,

In addition, please check your router's DHCP pool, make sure that it has enough IPs to hand out. Also, check for any Mac filtering as well.

If none of the above works, you may try assigning Static IP on her computer. Here's How.
