Hi all

after searching for solutions and getting near to pulling my hair our i've decided my best bet is asking the internet!

6 months after putting my PC into storage and buying a new(30gb hard drive ) laptop i'm frustrated at the lack of space and applications on my laptop and i'm finally set up in my flat and ready for my pc!

Somehow i have forgotten my password- I've tried everything i can think of(i'm hoping maybe one day it'll hit me)

I have lots of applications that i've paid for on my desktop so i don't want to have to buy them again so i'm trying anything and everything.

Looking online there are several solutions

- reset password through command prompt? found several tutorials where you can login as another admin to reset another user account- problem is it was solely my PC so there is only an admin account for me- there is a guest

- download a program to crack into it- problem is even if i was to download a program i can't install anything as a guest without an administrator password

- Boot from operating system disc to reset- my operating system is on my harddrive- it was preinstalled when i bought it many years ago

So apart from waiting until that moment where my brain just throws my 6 month ago password i'm out of ideas. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Working from this laptop is driving me nuts
