Logitech z506 5.1 surround sound rear speakers aren't working

I'm using windows 7 home edition, Logitech 5.1 z506. My rear L and R speakers only play during RealTech HD Audio Manager and window sound test. I noticed they didn't work right away because I play a lot of PC games and sound wasn't coming out of those rear speakers.

I have looked everywhere on google all day and everything leads to a dead end, i cant get them to work.

The fact that it works on a sound test and with games means that your speakers are good and that the jacks are good. Surround speakers are going to be used only if the media you are playing is sending something to that channel. Most music doesn't utilize surround sound. Does it work with DVDs? They usually have surround sound but you have to verify that it does.

guys anyone know why during games if i activate another noise it dims down the main pc game noise? its so annoying
