I've looked everywhere and found no solution for this, so I was hoping by posting about it, I could (hopefully) get some help.
I'm running windows7 home premium 64-bit operating system. There is only one user account set up in this computer (which, of course my user account). When I click on "Add or remove user accounts", there is only two user showing. One would be mine, and the other, a guest account, under which is written "Guest account is off'.
The problem is: I have to click on the user account before being able to type my password upon logon.
It's not really a huge problem, but I'm just wondering why.
My other friends don't have this problem. They only have one user account as well, and whenever their pc/notebook gets to the welcome screen, the default user is automatically selected and all they have to do is type in their account password.
But not for me. I have to click on my account, and only after that the user account picture zooms in and the password-input box appears. The same thing happens when I "lock" (Win + L) my computer. I have to click on the small user picture before the whole thing zooms in and the password input box appears. It doesn't happen on my friend's notebook.
I tried to compare almost everything but I couldn't figure out for the love of god what is wrong with my notebook. I ran netplwiz and found out there is a "GUEST" account which I cannot remove. My friend who is not having the same problem as I do, do not have this guest account in his "netplwiz". Could this be the 'cause of the issue?
How can I remove this guest account? I don't even know how/why that existed. I've never turned on the guest account before and this is the only thing I think is causing the problem.
Help, anyone?
