Double check to make sure that you still have your user account set to log on automatically at startup. If you do, then turn it off, apply, then turn it back on to see if that may help.

And I would rather NOT use the auto login feature

I think you are going to HAVE to click your username, are you sure your friends are using Windows 7?

Yeah. My friend is using the same OS. Windows7 Home Premium 64bit.

I have another friend is using windows vista and she doesn't have to click on her username. At first I thought it was a windows-vista thing, but when I knew another friend of mine doesn't have the same problem as I do, I figured something is wrong ..

By the way:

What's gonna happen if I leave the password field blank? Will I get locked out of my laptop? lol

Thats not going to solve your problem, that will auto login straight to the desktop

Then we're back to square one!

Kind of hoping someone with just one user account can come in and share their.. well, what happened when they lock their computer, log off, reboot .. or something.

Or does it mean I just have to get used to the clicking thing?

Ask your friend if he/she has to press CTRL + ALT + Delete before loggin in after a power on.

i.e. they turn the computer on, and before the computer displays their username they have to press CTRL + ALT + Delete

They don't have to.

Meanwhile I'll try asking some of my other friends, see if any settings are .. different or something. ugh.
