I presume you mean try the safe mode when I can't access any internet sites. I tried it in safe mode this morning whislt I had access, but don't really know what to do then. In answer to your question it is usually back on the following morning, however the times when I can't access any site vary - yesterday I couldn't from about 3 pm. Please remember it says I'm wirelessly connected but it just won't let me access any sites. I suspect a stepson who's a bit of a geek who's on the same broadband but he uses an Apple and has a couple of gadgets to speed up his connection, one of which is a DHP-301AV -do you think this has any connection. I have to say however my access disapears whether he's here or not.
Please try these two tests and post back with answers to the two questions:
Test 1:
After you lose your connection...
(whenever that might be),
...restart the computer
...enter the
safe mode with networking
...and try to surf somewhere.
Test 2:
Restart the computer again...
...let Windows start normally
...and try to surf somewhere.
Question 1:
Can you surf while in the
safe mode with networking mode during a time that you
cannot surf in the normal Windows mode?
Question 2:
Can you surf while in the normal Windows mode after the
restart?
After you answer those questions, Shadowjk can make more suggestions.
Other computers on your network can slow your speed down, but they typically would not bring your surfing to a total halt.
