I'm following the guide from Dell on my clean reinstall, but I;m running into a lot of problems. Before I begin I should say that before I even began installing drivers, for some reason there was no option in the driver manager for "Storage controllers" so I did not deleate anything and I am following the instructions straight from the dell site and the proper latitude e6410 driver manual page. AHCI is enabled in Bios as well with my Samsung 840 pro SSD

First in the picture below: it shows what the before and after should be once I install the Intel Rapid Storage Driver, but here's the thing, I don't even have a slot for "Storage Controllers" which should by default, have the Intel ICH8M-E/ICH9M-E SATA RAID Controller in the drive manager as seen in the third picture, and even after I installed the Intel Rapid Storage Driver, there still is no slot for the "Storgae Controllers" to been seen. However, in the second picture you'll see that I have a IRST icon and you can see the program running, so I'm completely lost.

Also in the third picture, dell instructed me to install the Intel AMT HECI Package, however upon tryign to install an error appears and says "my system does not meet the minimum requirements", yet I'm on the page for the proper drivers in installation order for my Latitude e6410, so again following the info right from the site, but strike two .

I'm ready to toss this thing out the window, but thought I would calm down for a bit and see if the gurus had any advice.

Hi ... So you just have the one error now in the Device Manager ? ... Did you use the Service Tag number on the Dell Website ? ...

Although you see many Drivers on the Download page they may not all apply to your Computer ..

Also remember that a lot of the Applications are just bloatware ..

Select the other Device right click select Property's / Details Tab ... Is there any Information there ? ....

Hi Maxie,

Yeah, after I calmed down a bit I went through and did a little research on those drivers, one of which is RAID and I should have caught that since RAID involves a series of hard drives and I'm only using one thus, no RAID available. As for the other driver; it has to do with modems and I'm using wireless so it won't recognize that which is not there.

I seems even though I entered my service tag, the Dell page offered a few drivers for Desktop configurations or at least laptops that would act as desktops (networked and modems and such)

Anyway, I've finished my clean install and everything seems to be working fine, so I would say those drivers were more of headache all for nothing. Thanks again for all your time over the past week, much appreciated
