I'm putting SP1 on my Sister's Laptop, and she only has IE8. So I downloaded it and didn't specify where. Now I can't find it. I looked in the obvious places, and I even did a search. I know it downloaded, but I can't seem to find it.

IE8 help gave me this

"When you download files, Windows usually saves them in the Downloads folder, which is located under your user name in the Users folder on the drive where Windows is installed (for example C:\users\your name\downloads). When you are saving the file, you can choose to save it to a different folder. Some different types of files are saved to different folders by default. For example, if you right-click a picture on a webpage and then choose Save Picture As from the menu, the picture will be saved to the Pictures folder by default. If you're not sure where the file was saved, you can search for it from the Start menu."

I've looked there. I'm probably just gonna spend another 90 minutes downloading it :(

It says the Download folder is my default one. Is it because I clicked "Run" the first time, and it didn't save to my HD when I chose to not Run it at the time it was downloaded

Ah, then perhaps the folder %temp% would be worth a check (Start menu > run > type %temp% then click OK). Other than that, a proper download may be necessary.

It says the Download folder is my default one. Is it because I clicked "Run" the first time

I ended up re-downloading it. Thanks for the help. I'll remember NOT to use IE next time
