Daughter give me her old Windows 7 laptop an Acer Aspire 5100 series. The problem is she's forgotten her password and have mislaid the backup disc's. Can anyone tell me how i might get around the password please. Thanks

I don't have an installation cd and the backup disks i made when she first had the machine have somehow gone astray? I have tried running a live cd "Linux". It loads but then the machine freezes. Looks like a dustbin job if there is no solution.

I have got Windows 7 backup disks but they are from a different machine.

download a hiren's bootCD ..it'll delete your password.

You can go to Geek Squad at Best Buy and they'll reset your password for $29.99. Just in case nothing at home works. A friend took his laptop there and it took like 3 minutes.
