Sooner or later every owner of a laptop has to go through that life-changing experience. Consider it as a coming of age, and it's better to do it while your laptop is still covered by a guarantee.Teerex, I'm not quite sure on how to update my BIOS because I have never done that before. And it just seems a little bit risky from what I've heard when googling how to do it.
Scan a USB flash drive for errors, format it in FAT32 (most are already formatted this way by deafult). Put the BIOS file you downloaded on it and use the BIOS flash utility inside your current BIOS. I updated BIOS's many times, and I have never had an ''incident''. Also, make sure your laptop has a stable supply of power (full battery AND connected to the mains).
