Ok super guru's I really need help with this ASAP

So here is the deal I have windows 7 Pro (64 bit) host
I am running VMware I have Mac OS 10 (leopard) installed boots up
and runs fine and can access all of my USB devices that are windows based

The problem is that I have a USB external hard drive formatted
under MAC ... it is my friends drive that I need to transfer files to
but since it is not recognized by the host it seems it cannot be loaded
by the mac virtual machine either

The drive is not recognized by the host windows 7 whatsoever
under device manager there is no exclamation point or unrecognized
device there is no sound when plugged or any activity on the host side
disk manager shows nothing

I am sure the drive is fine under a mac but I have no idea how to load it into the mac virtual machine since there is no path or drive letter to point to

Please help me get this drive open so i can transfer files back and forth
btw any suggestions of other methods for accessing a mac drive under windows
would be greatly appreciated I just assumed that if I loaded a mac OS virtual that the drive would just pop up ...sadly  this not the case
so what can I do ????

It may just be a no-go since Mac OS is not supported under any VM software (Because Apple does not allow it).

SO the VM companies have done nothing whatsoever to make it work.

However with VMWare, if you have the VMware host window focused, and you plug something into the USB, VMWare will grab the USB device before windows (If you have the settings set that way for the VM session). So in that case, if it was going to work it should work there as windows is bypassed and the USB port redirected to the VM.

If not then... Maybe try to find a forum that is more centered on running OSX under VMs...
