I have made an image of a hd with Macrium Reflect (free version). I want to schedule daily backups. My questions is will these be incremental backups, only backing up what is new?

I use the free version as well and perform weekly backups that are full backups. I then rename them to my own naming convention and cycle control. Each new backup is a full. I believe that it keys on the file name xxx-00-00 and determines whether to make an incremental if one exists and full if not. By renaming them I force Reflect to create full versions. Hope this helps.

It does help. I've got about 43gb of data to back up though and was hoping to avoid a full backup every time. I'm new to all this and I guess a full backup like you do would avoid problems with how to integrate the incremental backups with the files in the image if I ever had to restore it all.

I wrote a script that starts Reflect and saves 2 versions of backup. I schedule it to run weekly. I would be happy to send you a copy if you like. Pretty basic but it works.

I use Macrium free. It will not do incremental.

For incremental function you need the paid version.

Hope that helps.
