Made a shortcut for "Run" and it was deleted as a program!

I tried making a shortcut on my desktop for the "Run" program by doing this:

Went to All Programs under Start menu

Found Run in Accessories

Clicked and dragged onto desktop, making a shortcut.

Now, it no longer appears under Accessories in my Start menu! I search for it, and it only finds the desktop shortcut, not the program. I put the shortcut in the recycling bin, and now the start menu pulls nothing related to "Run" if I search. Please help me get this back!

Hello Jessica,

You had moved the Run shortcut from the Start Menu All Programs area to your desktop instead of copying it. Since the shortcut is still in your Recycle Bin, restore the shortcut back to your desktop, then use the tutorial below to move the Run shortcut back into the Start Menu All Programs area.

One way is a system restore to a point in time before you tried to create the Run shortcut.

LOL, if you 'drag' something from one place to another, it is gone from where you dragged it. Just make another shortcut and move it to:
C:\Users\<your name>\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Accessories

Try dragging with the right mouse button. I often use the RMB because it pops up a menu asking what exactly was I trying to do.
