Malwarebytes Antimalware

I have configured the latest version of Malwarebytes Antimalware program to make full
scan of my pc every day and when the scan finishes, a message appears saying i must restart
my pc for the cleaning process to finish. Can i disable this message? If yes then how?

Hello:

The reboot process is necessary to finish the cleaning process for certain types of malware.
That's simply how the tool works.
AFAIK, no, you cannot disable that particular message.
More granular user control of notifications will be added to a future release.
However, critical notifications, like the one you mention, likely will not be able to be turned off.
That would render ineffective the program's ability to clean.

Also, routine, "Full"/"Custom" scans of the entire system are neither necessary nor recommended.
It is a task better suited to your anti-virus. Regular Threat scans are all that are needed under most conditions, especially with safe computing practices, MBAM Premium and a robust AV.

If Malwarebytes request a reboot just do it. It would not ask you to do that if it wasn't necessary to do a complete clean.

Yep full/ custom scan once a day is a bit much any real reason you scan that way :/

Besides doing it after first download and after activating with or without scanning for rootkits activated might be applicable but once a day is overkill.

I up date Malwarebytes and other things several times a day.
I do normal scans with Malwarebytes manually about once a week.
I do SAS cookie scans manually several times a day.

Now if I think something possibly has attacked my computer like what happened yesterday.
Malwarebytes blocked a hyperlink I ticked on. It should be okay because it was blocked.
Don't care I'm still going to run scans with different programs to be sure nothing got in.

I don't do any auto updates or scans. Everything is done manually.
That way I know what is done, when it's done and how it is done.

Keep in mind you have to pay attention to your computer and what is going on if you want to do things manually.

It's not unreasonable to briefly postpone the reboot until work can be saved, but I don't think that was the OP's question:

Can i disable this message? If yes then how?

Moreover, the malware removal will not be completed until the system is rebooted.

According to the User Guide, one may be able to at least temporarily close the notification popup (see attached screen shot).
But, AFAIK, there is no way currently for the user to disable such a notification from appearing or to disable the notification process for critical notifications.

I think one just clicks the notification popup itself (that's what the text next to the picture says)?

Having said that, if you have a technical question about MBAM, there is an active support forum HERE.

And if you have suggestions for product improvement, there is a specific sub-forum for "Comments and Suggestions" HERE.
Posting there would be a more direct, efficient means of providing feedback to the product team.
They aren't likely to see suggestions made here or out on the world wide intertubes.

True. I always delay reboots required by updates until I have wrapped up whatever else I have going on and close most of the running programs.

With one exception, I always run scans while other programs and my browser is open (the one exception is when checking Immunization in Spybot S&D; it doesn't like open browsers so I shut IE down for the minute it takes to run). I've yet to have a problem doing so (keep in mind I have a pretty powerful system that can handle the load). Of course, there is something to be said for caution.

Well I do believe I have enough computer to run many things at one time. I just choose to run security scans with things closed. I don't have any proof it is better. It is probable all in my paranoid mind. Because my system is quick it really doesn't take long.

Well not sure if the original poster will return or not but I'll go ahead and give some feedback.

MoxieMomma is correct in that currently you cannot disable the alert. True that I also would not recommend a full scan daily (more wear and tear on your drive than is needed) but what I find odd is that a daily scan would find something and need a reboot. Once yes, but not daily unless there is something there it cannot remove or something that keeps coming back. Probably best to have someone with training in malware detection and removal assist you with looking into what is infecting your computer and see about getting it removed.

With regards to a required reboot or not I can tell you that there is malware that if you don't reboot immediately after removal then you're wasting your time as it will respawn a new process and continue living on. There are certainly somethings that don't require a reboot to remove and some of those have been fixed but not all. There are many items though that cannot be safely removed without rebooting. I personally find Kaspersky antivirus to be one of the most sophisticated antivirus products at removal and it too has to reboot for many type of infections to fully remove it and they too ask to reboot.

My main reply is in reference to marios1441 about why it finds something over and over which it should not.

Okay folks you heard for the man.
My 3 brain cells tells me the man is correct.
Their is nothing when computing more important than a clean computer.
If a security program including Malwarebytes wants you to reboot do it when requested.

Remember some thing can't be removed when in use and a reboot is just necessary to clean the rest of the infection.

If the same infection keeps coming back it could be the owner/operator is doing the same bad thing over and over or one needs to do a deeper search with other programs to find the problem.

Remember no one program does it all.

I'm a fan boy of Malwarebytes. I wouldn't go computing without it.

Guys, you're correct, reboot as quickly as one is able; hence save work swiftly and reboot.

I am not agree with this.
why Malwarebytes is able to detect threats in each scan.
Please check the List of Installed Programms in Computer I am sure you would certainly find some Unwanted programms there.

also check your startup Items run>> msconfig>>startup and disable all the Unwanted startup.

Most of the time Antimalware programms report some cookies as threats. Adwares use these cookies to trace your browsing history.
So please delete all of your cookies using C cleaner.
Run a temp scan using hitman pro (one time scan) and reboot.
now you should not be asked for repeatative reboots as Makwarebytes wont found any threats.
