Suddenly MalwareBytes Hangs when Trying to Update Defs

OS: Winows7 - 64 bit
1.86 GHz CPU
3.9 GB RAM
MWB version 1.75.0.1300

The last few days, when I try to update MWB definitions, the program hangs. When I try to close it, I get a pop-up saying "the program is not responding".

So why suddenly has this program developed this problem? I haven't changed any settings or downloaded anything. I did a quick scan with MWB and MSSE and neither found anything.

MWB support only suggests I update to the latest version. This is the last version that did work with my system.

Any suggestions?

I use Windows 7 Professional, the only MBAM that really works for me is 2.1.1.1001. I was able to have the only two live protections on all the time. I have manually update daily.
