On the Windows 7 forums index, there is a button towards the bottom that says "Mark Forums Read." What does that mean?

As far as I'm aware it indicates which threads have not been updated since you clicked the 'Mark Forums Read' link.

In other words, it saves you the bother of revisiting a thread that hasn't changed from your last visit.

If you click mark forums read, the whole forum will show as not having any new posts. They will also disappear from your subscribed list until a new post in that thread is made. A Guy
