Hi all
Can anyone recommend a reasonable Windows 7 x-64 (or preferably Windows 2008 server) compliant replacement for a QUAD output Matrox M9140 graphics card that I'm running on a Work Windows 2003 Server machine.

I'm in the process of upgrading the server to Windows 2008 server -- for the few apps I can't run on Windows 7 / W2008 server I'll keep a Windows 2003 server running as a Virtual machine.

W7 support doesn't work properly -- nor does W 2008 server -- desktop stretch and some other features aren't working yet. Matrox support for W7 seems to be a bit of a long time in coming - the card itself is flawless however --but I MUST get the server up and running ASAP or the Boss will go Bonkers.

I DO need the 4 Monitor output -- I haven't bought a video card for a while so I'm out of touch with this stuff.

The card doesn't need DVI or HDMI (if it has it OK) but MUST be able to drive 4 monitors at 1900 X 1200.

Cheers
jimbo

Hi there

Thanks for the link
No probs getting this stuff imported from USA - tax free too. :D

However Matrox have FINALLY updated their software so I'll test it to see if it works on W2008 Server.

If the new drivers from Matrox don't want to play nice and all you need is the card for its multi-monitor support, if you still decide on a new card and the motherboard has 2 PCI-E 16x slots (8x will do as well), look at a couple of cheap low end video cards (ATI 4350 or Nvidia 94/9500 series for example).

Hi there
thanks for the suggestions --will keep in mind if the other card doesn't work.

(Actually I'm looking for a reasonable excuse to fit something else --it's only a work server that doesn't need high end video - although it must have multiple slots for output -- I will then take the Matrox card to run at home -- my contribution to "re-cycling and "perks of the job" - it's a nice "expensive" video card which will work "sufficiently well" on my home W2K3 server -- I don't need "all the bells and whistles" on a home computer and I'm not a gamer :D).

Cheers
