MBR error 1 on new HDD

Hi all,

I bouth a new HDD, Seagate 1TB 7200rpm to replace my old Seagate 1TB that died. I put in into my case, I plugged it in and started Windows. after booting, windows tried to find the drivers for it. It didn`t. I search the seagate website and downloaded Seagate DiskWizard. I installed it and run it and chose to install new HDD. I followed up the steps, chose MBR as all internet sources sais to chose it (except for 3TB or larger HDD). When it finished, I assumed it would show up in My Computer window, but it didn`t. I thought I should restart the PC, so I did. When trying to boot again, it says MBR error 1 and tells me to press any key to boot from floppy. I have no floppy and Disk A is disabled in BIOS. Anyway, pressing any key won`t make any difference, computer is blocked at that screen and only solution is to shut it down, pressing the power button longer.

I unplugged the new HDD so I can use my PC, but still, I need this HDD and I hope I can find a solution in here.

Please consider I am a novice when it comes to computers, I only know the basics and this was my first HDD install. So take me gently if I made some stupid moves and please explain me as for a dumb what and how to do.

You could try doing this. First off, you will need to create a system repair disk if you don't have one already. See tutorial above for how to do it. Once you have the system repair disk, unplug the HDD with your Windows OS on it so only the new HDD is hooked up. Then place the repair disk into your optical device and reboot your computer. Then follow the steps in the second tutorial to run the clean command, which will wipe the boot sector on your new HDD. The second part of the tutorial shows you how to create a new partition on the HDD using diskpart, but after the disk has been wiped, you could also hook your other drive with Windows back up to your computer and see if the new HDD is now recognized in disk management. If it is, you could partition and format it. If the disk isn't recognized then I would consider sending it back to wherever you bought it and get it replaced.
