Hi All.
I ususally help others but today I need your help myself.
I just tried to record a local TV news channel and when I hit record the little red ball doesn't show up in my taskbar.
So I checked the Media Center TV guide and it show that I'm recording.
Now I look in my directory where it is setup to store my shared TV recordings and nothing is there.
Media Center plays TV well. I have not added any new hardware,
I have went into Media Center configuration for TV Recording and all looks great.
I uninstalled Media Center and reinstalled it using default setting and still no recordings..

Any ideas or suggestions on what I should check next?

Thanks

I cannot say whether this is still an issue with you .. however, this recently occured to me too.
Run your task manager and select the processes tab.

You'll most likely already see ehrecvr.exe along with ehsched.exe (receiver & scheduling services)
What's Missing is The Media Center Media Status Aggregator Service. It also needs to be running.

IT IS ehmsas.exe .. located at ... C:\Windows\ehome\ehmsas.exe

I simply opened the eHome folder and clicked it once (while viewing the active processes in WindowsTaskManager for verification it HAD started). This resolved the problem manually. I scheduled a tv recording and WaLa .. IT began just as it had been scheduled.

I further added ehmsas.exe to my WIN7 Professional Quick Launch folder as I may need to manually start it until I can determine what's needed to auto run it at startup. You'll need to speak with a more seasoned member for those details. I'm justa schlubnozzle :D who reads a ton of tweaker webpages.

oo & You look a lot like S.MARTin .. He was great back in the day!

Thanks for your help. Since I had this problem I decided to do a full new clean install of Win7. That solved the problem. I usually like to do this at least twice a year. All my data is backed up on another drive and installing a few programs is not an issue.
Thanks for your help and the manual way to correct my problem.
