Media Center on Laptop. Playing music through theatre system.

Perhaps this is too simple a question, but, I want to get it right.

I want to use my laptop to play music at a clubhouse for etertainment and dancing occasionally. The amplification set up is thru a wide screen TV with supplemetal subwoofer (amplified) and speakers. If I could show the media player visualizations on the tv screen it would be great, but, not necessary. If any of you have used this method before successfully, I would sure appreciate your input.

My laptop specs are listed. Plus I have HDMI output as well as, VGA. Plus earphone output.

Plug the laptop in with HDMI and use media player, or for presentations use media center
