i have you to thank for introducing me to media rowser in the fist place ,it was exactly what i needed as my movie folder was way too large to remember details of each film and the number of films i started to play only to stop after a few mins as they weren't suitable for my partners taste now i can browse by genre keeping everyone happy.

I've noticed others posting mediabrowser questions outside of this thread, so I wanted to post this to let people know that this thread is not dead and I'm still e-linked to it. So if you need help with your MB just post it here and I'm sure to come and help out.

I dont troll the rest of the forum very often so if you post outside of here I'm likely not going to see it and thus you'll be left unhelped.

I have just installed Media Browser along with Yammm for WMC.I have just about got it working for movies.
Now l'm trying to get posters, art & info for TV shows,l don't think Yammm works for TV shows.

Is there a plug-in that does the same as Yammm for TV shows ?

I'm not a user of Yammm so I'm not sure what it can/can't do but I personally use metabrowser2 (paid app), there's also a free version of metabrowser but it's no longer supported by the author.

There's also mediacenter master, again one that I dont use, but from my understanding there is also a paid and free version of that one too. Both of the paid apps paid versions are way more feature rich then the free counterparts. So if you want a very powerful meta tool I'd recommend the paid metabrowser2.

Here's another thread on this very topic, may be worth checking out, see what others think on the subject.

btw, in answer to your plugin q, no, there's no mb plugins that are scrapers.

hi demon hope you can help me out here

Ive been having some problems lately, mostly on the tv shows side
I'm on the latest 2.5.0.0 BTW

- Folders don't load their posters with TV show names sometimes on some, sometimes they show up, sometimes they don't
- TV Show episode names some show up, others don't or some that don't you have to refresh them manually
- TV Show season folders don't show up sometimes, some show up others don't without any explanation

i name everything like so in folders and most if the time it works perfectly.
Here is an example of how i name them folder wise with the show House:

House > Season 1 > House S01E01 720p

here are some pics attached to show you what i mean:

ok if that's the case, the first thing that grabs my attention is that 720p in your file name. That should really be inside [brackets] like so, Hell Boy [720p].mkv

that will make mb ignore the 720 part and not try to skip over it because it thinks that's part of the movie name and it cant find any matches.

are you .... well, I just went and looked at your shots again and it looks like you're using starkcovers? if that's the case you do have local metadata, and therefore the file names aren't so important because mb actually looks to the mymovies.xml for the proper name. sooooo.... now I'm at a loss again.

All I can really recommend is to double check those folder and make sure they don't have corrupt images by some off chance. you could also try installing the findart plugin which will let you open the * context menu in mb and pull in new art.

Sorry, I'm really unsure of whats going on.

yeah im using coverart plugin for the covers
movies have no problem, its with the tv shows
im as confused as you my man

i noticed you talked about meta<browser> in older posts so I started playing around with it and i think this is the best resolve once and for all for all my cover problems
what do you think?

yeah using a meta tool is always a good thing, no matter which one you end u going with. It guarantees you'll always have pristine metadata in mediabrowser and always show only the images you want.

it also makes things much faster doing refreshes and such because it doesn't always have to connect to the net to pull in info, instead it just looks straight to your folders and is so much faster.

I am working on downloading the necessary programs to modify Media Center. What I had used before was Media Center Studio. But I can't seem to find a suitable download location for it. Any ideas on where I can get it or if a new program has replaced it.

Thanks
