What I would do is remove all of your codecs and remove media browser
then go to program data/media browser/cache and delete everything inside then restart your PC then install Shark007.net - Windows 7 Codecs
and Media browser again then start MC

Shark says his codecs will play MVK's in windows 7

ok, thanks. Will try that tomorrow (live in Sydney).

HI , first off, Great stuff Demonseed, All the info is there and any new comer will be able to have their MB setup in no time :-)

Here's my question: Did anyone here got MB 7MC to work with the Xbox 360 as extender?
I have it working perfectly with Vista, but it doesnt work as well with Windows 7. I am able to play all types of media (avi, mkv, etc). I have the Shark 07 codecs, but it's very very slow and keeps buffering every 15 seconds. If anyone had any success using the Xbox 360, please let me know how you manage to make it work flawlessly. This is the only thing that makes me keep Vista as my main OS and basically never use 7 lol. I have the 7 RC installed

thanks

Thank you, I am tiring to gather as much info and put it one place to make it easier for others, and promote all the grate people that are sharing things with the community. My goal is to have people be able to have a great looking MB and not need to ask one single question, but I think I still have a way to go before that happens.

Now about your prob.
I did a little digging around and found these threads about your prob.
Looks like the next release may have it all fixed.
Media Browser BBS • View topic - MB on xbox360 display problems...
Media Browser BBS • View topic - Xbox 360 network sharing problem
Media Browser BBS • View topic - Windows RC1 7100
Media Browser BBS • View topic - Access denied mse on xbox 360 extender from windows 7 64bit

Not sure, I didn't read to deep but you may find a fix in one of these threads.

Thanks for the quick reply and all the information Demonseed. Well no luck there.
My setup in 7MC works with my Xbox360, I get no error message and it reads everything I throw at it, the problem is that it's just slow, very slow and keeps buffering. I know it's not my network connection since it works perfectly in Vista. Oh Well, I I guess I'll just wait for a future release of MB and continue with my Vista setup for now.

When I started working on MC few months back, the info was all over in a lot of different forums. What you are doing is great and it sure helps having the info in one location. bookmarked now!!!!
thanks and keep up the good work.

I have a question for everyone.

Do you like the way I have the cover page set up?
With the the " Boxes to separate everything.
Or am I just making it hard for y'all to make scene of?

I would really like the readers input on this.
I was trying to keep it a separated but compact at the same time.
Did work or just confuse you?

Thanks-DS

Thanks for the great work, Demonseed. In fact, it was a post of yours on another board that turned me on to Media Browser, so thank you and I owe you one!

My one backdrop question: Does anyone know where I can find the Dolby Digital Backdrop that some people use? I can't seem to find it in any of the icon downloads. I may have missed it, though.

Thanks again, Demon.

I have a problem I hope you can help with. I went through the process of loading and configuring Mediabrowser and Metabrowser. I am happy with the way everything looks. When I click on the movie covers some movies don't play. The MKV and AVI play alright but my VOB files don't. When I click on them with windows explorer everything works and all movies play. what's UP? Any SUGGESTIONS?

No, I really dont... and I hate saying that.
I did some digging around at the MB forum and did find anything about people having aa hard time with VOB files . Sorry

What OS are you using X32 or X64

Can you play them outside of Media Browser but inside Media Center?
Try to browse to the file from the video strip and play one from there and see if it will play in MC

OK I have been telling y'all to go and see these guys and request something you want. Well today I put it to the test.
I asked Setting sun to make me 7 icons most of which I went and found the image I wanted to show and then gave them to him and he said OK.
Well I was happy let me tell ya, and I thought I might see the new icons in a week or so.
And I was wrong!!! I got them all today, Like 3 hours after asking for them!
Then to top it off Xzener showed a new launch icon he made and I asked for one of my own...and he did... in like 20min.
I mean come on who is that cool to just give up time any time anyone asks?!
These guys are too damn cool!!
You All Need To Go See Each And Everyone Of Them Because They ALL ROCK!!!

Thanks Demonseed.

I decided to install windows 7 RTM (7127) 32 bit (instead of 64bit) and installed the Shark codecs 32 bit.

MCE is finally playing the MKV movies but there are still a few problems.

1-AVC files 90% of my movies is playing fine but the quality is just not as good as with Media Player Classic? I also installed just MPC and also using the same ffdshow but the quality is better. Feels like playing via MCE there are more blocking on the background and not as clear??

2-The other 10% are remuxes (VC1) MKV files. Those are not playing at all via MCE!!! MPC the remuxes are playing fine??

3-On the right site there is a white line showing during playback?

I am using exactly the same settings with MCE and MPC?? Or am I missing something?

Cheers,
Steve

Have you gone through MC's Full TV config setup? Remember your TV and PC Mon will show thing very differently. But Do go all the way through and do a full config in MC's settings and see if that will help.

Hi, I only connected the HTPC via full HD TV (so no monitor involved).
So MPC is showing better picture quality then MCE on the same Television.
I only installed the Shark codecs 32 bit and the latest MPC player. Via Shark config I choos FFDshow (default). Not sure what the difference in picture quality is with multithreading.....

Yes, that is MediaPortal. I am trying MCE because of the Mediabrowser Plugin.

MCE is giving more background blocking/noise on the background. MPC is much more clearer.
