Hello,

Yesterday my Windows 7 PRO x64bit machine suddenly deactivated (black wallpaper with Windows is not genuine in bottom right corner) .

So i tried activate it again, but without success (still shows that my version copy of Windows is not legal) . So i tried turn off internet connection and activate system via phone. But this still not work, activation code did not match with installation ID.

I also tried delete key with slmgr.exe commands in CMD (/upk , /cpky, /rearm , ... ) without success too.

Ok, well, so I bought new key from internet (COA sticker) . This not work either (phone activation did not work too, same error with did not match codes) .

So I started prepare to reinstall my system. But today in the evening my system suddenly ACTIVATED! With the new COA sticker key.

Microsoft had an issue with their activation servers or what? It little bit ruined my weekend and my health, because yesterday I was vaccinated :-( .

Thank you in advance.

Most likely you have ascertained the issue & reported the resolve. I have experienced the same. Rebooted and all is well!
Computers, Servers and Programmers are not infallible. Errors, mistakes, etc. do happen.
Do you have any other computer issues you may wish help with?

Snick : I have one more PC and laptop with W7 PRO x64bit. Both were run yesterday too, but these machines stayed activate. Only my laptop lost activation. But I am happy, that I don't need format Windows, it cost “only“ one COA key, but system is activate and fully working now :) .

I think, that this activation issue has something to do with Emotet false positive , that I catched 1.12.2021 . Maybe Microsoft checked my system as infected and blocked my activation? I was scared, that someone attack on my laptop :D . And now I was scared, when I lost activation. Too much issues in one week :-/ .

Because this is not normal, that activation doesn't even work over the phone, well?
