Thanks Brink for the information.
Does it hurt to uninstall that KB even without Error Coded 55?
I'm having problems with FF20.0 and Malwarebytes that I never had before.
Hey Jack,
I wouldn't think so if you haven't had issues, but since you are, you might go ahead and uninstall it to see if you still have the issues with FF20.0 and Malwarebytes.

I uninstalled the KB and so far it had no ill effect.
I did find the Firefox problem and fixed it.
It was a false Google home page. I reset Google home page and as of now it works as it should.
Now if everyone took that approach, then we would not know if there was a problem now would we....This was a nice moment to keep in mind that it's always a good idea to not immediately spring for updates, lest there be hidden surprises.
Update 2823324 addresses a Moderate-level vulnerability that requires an attacker to have physical computer access to exploit.
I don't know if it is related, but my computer has just started displaying some annoying/weird issues:
- The Recycle Bin always forgets its "View" settings now (it used to forget occasionally, usually if I opened it when it only contained images)
- My Event Viewer thinks that Startup (100) is actually Shutdown (200)
I doubt this is the same issue and if I were you I would start a new thread in say, BSOD Help and Support... BSOD Help and Support - Windows 7 Help Forums
Well good luck![]()
"The problem is mostly confined to users in Brazil that have the banking security plugin 'G-Buster' installed," Qualys Chief Technology Officer Wolfgang Kandek said in a blog posted on Friday. "G-Buster is locally developed in Brazil by the company 'GAS Tecnologia' and is widely installed in Brazil. Given the number of complaints in Brazil, it is clear that Microsoft does not have this particular combination of Windows 7 and G-Buster plugin in its QA setup."
Microsoft has advised users of Windows 7 (and Windows Server 2008) to uninstall a recent security update (KB2823324) after hundreds of complaints about computers not starting, refusing to re-boot, and other similar issues. Microsoft is blaming conflicts with 3rd party software for the errant behavior. Apparently, some Anti-Virus programs may also be affected, displaying symptoms such as issuing incorrect ‘Invalid License’ messages.Microsoft is investigating behavior where systems may not recover from a restart, or applications cannot load, after security update 2823324 is applied. We recommend that customers uninstall this update. As an added precaution, Microsoft has removed the download links to the 2823324 update while we investigate.More information is available via this Microsoft Knowledge Base Article.
Note Security update 2840149 replaces security update 2823324. We recommend that customers uninstall security update 2823324 and then install security update 2840149.
