Solved Microsoft Security Essentials / Redirect virus! HELP!

Hey guys!
I am having issues with the Microsoft Security Essentials software, as it deosn't want to start up..
And not only that, but I have a nasty redirect virus, which doesn't want to leave me alone!

So each time I open MSE the icon shows in the lower right corner. BUT, when I move the cursor over it, to scan and so on it instantly dissapears! D;

I have tried EVERYTHING to remove the redirect virus, but it just doesn't want to leave me alone! I have gone into the drivers folder etc, and used several programs which supposedly was supposed to remove it. Needless to say, it didn't work..

I don't know what to do! Any help appreciated!
My native language is Norwegian, not English, so my spelling isn't the best.

I read a post, about a guy who said you had to disable Windows Defender and so on. But when I try to open Windows Defender as well, it just instantly shuts down, just like MSE.
The only thing I managed to read was "Service Stopped" in a yellow box.

You could try an offline virus scanner have a look at this

I could, but would that help MSE and Defender not instantly shut down?
Is it a virus that does this?

TBH I don't know not really my thing I was just trying to give you a suggestion but it it could possibly be virus behaviour, I would run a scan and see if it finds anything

I agree with Pauly; Windows Defender Off Line would be a good place to start. You won't know if it finds anything until you try it. I have never know it to hurt anything. Many infection will try to stop you from running a anti virus or going on line and downloading help.
Make sure you only have MSE installed and no other anti virus program. Built in Windows Defender and Windows Defender Off Line are two completely different programs.
If you can download WDO from a known clean computer. Up date it and run it on the questionable computer.

No one program can find and clean everything that is why I recommend a few.
Let us know if anything is found and what it is.

I have already scanned the PC with Malawarebytes, and it showed up with a few hits, but nothing major

When I select the boot menu, it says that I have to choose from either USB-FDD, -HDD and so on. Which one do I choose?
The first thing I tried was USB-HDD; and WDO came up with an error :/

It worked the second time, and the scan didn't pick up any viruses.

Redirect virus is a nasty thing because sometimes in includes a rootkit.
This is another very good program to run when you are done with the previous posted ones.

My understanding of things now is all suggested scan were run and no infections were found. Is that correct?
If it is correct I recommend removing all anti any thing program except MSE and MBAM and then check if you can update them and run both of them them.
I would like to have more precise answers if you could.

Does this mean you still can't start MSE and Windows 7 firewall at this time?
Two more suggestions.
Restore point before you had this problem could help now. Go back about 3 restore points in time.

Wait a sec, and I will report back with my findings! ^^

Edit: There really isn't anything more to add to the answer Layback, it just didn't come up with any viruses (The Offline Defender thingy).
And the Malaware did come up with some infected files, and I removed them.
The TDSS software didn't come up with anything eather. ( But I did run it once for a few days ago, and it found some files, and I removed them as well ^^

It says that I can't because it couldn't detect any restore points, or something like that D;

Speluncus MSE should turn off Windows 7 built in Defender.
Knowing what infections were removed would help.
Please answer Jacce's questions, it would help us help you.

I am actually not having any re-directs atm. So I think the virus is killed/removed.
I am not sure what infections got removed, I am sorry to say that I usually don't pay attention to that.
But again, the re-directing virus is gone. It might re-occur, but I will be sure to report back to you if it ever does ^^
