I have been using MSE for some months on a Win 7 Pro x64 system.

Lately when I have tried to upgrade the computer connects and says its downloading and then gives me an error message saying the upgrade failed.

this morning MSE popped up a message windows saying that there was an upgrade available and Win 7 asked me if I wanted to allow it to make changes, etc., but when I said "yes," I got the same sequence and error message.

Anyone know what that's all about?

Instead of upgrading download the whole 2.0 package and install.

Hi,

I have encountered a different issue but I would just like to share.

I downloaded the setup file for MSE from my office laptop and went home to install on my home laptop. Its prompts "this is a 32-bits installation. installation canceled".

So I re-visit the web to download again and managed to get it installed and updated on my 64bits home laptop. So I guess somewhat, the website will recognise whether your OS is a 32 or 64-bits and prompt you to download the right version?

Yes you need the right version which is auto detected as you have found out.

Windows Update does the same.
