I didn't realize the discussion of combating piracy and cracks was against the rules. A bit odd if it is.

I think some people blur the border between discussing how to crack, discussing how to combat it, and just plain talking about it (but not about how its done).

Thanks. I'm very happy to see our forum site taking the high road on this topic. I work for a software vendor and have my entire professional life. So, piracy is a very important concept for me and one that I understand quite a bit better since my standard of living is dependent upon software sales. Fortunately for me, the types of software that I work with and support isn't a home user system....so piracy isn't rampant. I've grown quite fond of various open source options and freeware options that do a great job. Personally, if I cannot afford to pay for a piece of software, I'd rather use the free alternative rather than give the high priced vendor the time of day.

Only if you want 322 different versions out there.... It works for Linux, but would be an epic FAIL for Windows 7...
