So your - don't how to describe it - aerial thing has gone on your laptop, and now you have to use a wired Internet connection?

i've a wired lan internet connection. and i started to use it as a wireless connection on my notebook with cmd.exe . "netsh wlan start hostednetwork" etc. commands on cmd.exe like this guys do: How to: Create Wireless Hosted Networks in Windows 7

These directions for manually setting up a hosted wireless network look more complete to me.

Windows 7 Tip of the Week: Use Wireless Hosted Networking to Share An Internet Connection Wirelessly

Or you could do it the easy way and use connectify software for this, take your pick. :)

You need a driver that is Windows 7 certified and you need to have the Microsoft virtual WiFi mini port adaptor installed. Should be there in Device Manger.

If the virtual mini port is gone you can just reinstall the driver for your wireless connection and it will automatically reinstall the virtual mini port.

I have the same problem except that mine never had internet access from the beginning. I tried installing "Connectify" which Norton told me was "unstable" and the result was the blue screen with no get out. I had to do a factory reset on my net-book which has taken me weeks to get back all that I lost and I am now trying with "Command Prompt". I can connect my tablet with SSID and Password no problem but no internet access. From what I read, you have to click on the "sharing" tab on the adapter with internet access and click "share" but there is no "Sharing" tab and despite going to "services" and enabling everything which could possibly be relevant, I am not winning. Anybody out there with the answer?
