Hello,
I have been messing with trying to get hdmi to work in windows7. At 1 point I had several hdmi sound sources in my playback devices section of sounds. Whatever it really is called... I removed my old nvidia drivers ver 191. and went to the newest version 260. thats when I noticed they were gone. I have an external soundblaster 24 bit and internal sb710 chipset. I disabled the internal but taht did't bring back the hdmi stuff. I have just downloaded the sb file from the top of the forum area and will try and install that later.
I want to know if I need to install the file from here or whatever to get the hdmi stuff back.
Thanks

If your video card has a built in audio device for the HDMI that is what is needed to be selected to have HDMI audio from the HDMI connection on the Video Card.

Since you upgraded the video drivers and that apparently killed it, rollback the driver and see if you get the audio back.

The HDMI, when it's on-board with the video card, has nothing to do with your PC's audio card. It's strictly a function on the Video card.
