I'm looking for a Xeon E3-1235 cpu (LGA 1155 socket) to build a server, I read here in a post from almost a year ago that not all 1155 MOBOs can handle the Xeon cpus.

Is this true?

In Newegg they have normal 1155 boards and 1155 Server boards.
Since normal boards are much cheaper and I won't use all the features in server boards I was planning to get a normal board.

Should I get a server board instead??

Unlike the last generation Xeon 1156 chips (X3440, X3450, X3450), the latest Xeon 1155 chips (E3-1230, E3-1235, E3-1240) are not known for their compatibility with non-server boards. For whatever reasons, manufacturers did not update the microcode on non-serverl boards to facilitate the Xeon 1155 chips.

I would suggest a server board for the Xeon E3-1235 CPU.
