monitor recommendations

OK so I'm after a monitor to replace my current 1080p monitors. but there's sooooooo many monitors out there I'm lost in a sea of reviews!!

I'm liking the look of the 21:9 screens, but few are great for gaming. plus as they're super wide screen things are on the same scale as a 1080p display but have more screen to play with. where as normal larger monitors will just blow up the image.

money isn't a real issue, so recommend anything really, don't bother with 4k, its needlessly pointless at the moment as the current hardware available isn't really up to scratch.

I currently have a Gtx 770, so up to 1440p is still fine.

I like the wideness of the 21 x 9 monitors but I find them blurry and the images are stretched funny. I've only seen demos, and maybe they weren't running at the best resolution, but that's been my experience.

I have LG's and I'm happy with them but ASUS, Samsung, DELL, HP especially IPS panels should be seriously looked at as the prices seem to be falling in anticipation of 4k.

The LG 34UM95-P is a VERY nice monitor that I feel fits right in between large 1080p monitors and 4K monitors. It's a 34" Ultrawide(21:9) WQHD display with a native resolution of 3440x1440. It's great for content creation, productivity, gaming, and movies. This is going to be the next trend in displays, and with 4k still not totally feasible, it's the next logical step. If you would rather have something more traditional, look at 2560x1440 resolution displays from Asus/Samsung/LG/Dell.

I personally have had tremendously great experiences with monitors from NEC, the Japanese engineering is worth the price.

With regards to LG, I'd personally stay away from anything they make period because of shady activity like this:

ASUS makes pretty good monitors check out their site and use their filters to find what you're looking for
