mouse cursor bugged

hi guys,
i do know that this is a common problem most likely related to ati gfx drivers and afaik has not yet been resolved.
however, you guys seem pretty awesome so i give it a shot anyways:

problem: mouse cursor gfx gets bugged playing games (heroes of newerth, starcraft 2...)

happens randomly while playing, gfx for cursor are totally distorted
"wiggling" the mouse around in the top right corner eases the distortion to less ugly but at least usable to some extend
distortion prevails in all applications including desktop until restart

i was trying about with aero settings and mouse settings/drivers but to no avail.
gfx card stays nice and cool at all times, so no problem there.

does anybody know how to get rid of this?

HI, what mouse are you using? have you got the latest drivers for it? which ati ccc are you using?, also how high are your settings in games?
Have you tried with a different mouse? is it a usb mouse have you tried a different usb port?
Just a few things to look at which also may help someone to give an answer
