Hello,

can someone please help I'm going mad

Mouse disconnects from active window every 10, 20 seconds sometimes a couple of minutes and when I click on window is working again, it kind of deselects automatically from work space, I've tried to google for it but have found nothing related and tbh don't know exactly what to search for.
I have 2 mouses (one wireless Logitech mx 500 and a wired laser one) connected to the machine they have been working perfectly up to 2 days ago when I installed an ssd and OS

It happens with browsers IE and firefox,, Explorer, Picture viewer

OS is win7 x64 ultimate was installed 2 days ago and is updated

Don't know if related or not but I notice that sometimes not always when this happens the wireless network connection (linksys wireless pci card) disconnects not sure if exactly at the same time though

Has anyone any idea what might be causing this ?

Not very keen on installing the OS again

Any help really appreciated

Bruno

Perhaps on the previous OS you had updated the mouse drivers and forgotten about it? I would check for new drivers for the current OS.

If the WiFi card is going out then it may have nothing to do with the mice. You should probably ask the moderator to move this to the Networking and Sharing forum on the board as you will get more reads by regulars here proficient in networking. I only know a few tricks from getting my own stuff to work over the years. And I avoided wireless when I had the chance. Now I only own a Laptop so I have to WiFi like it or not. :)

You may need to surf and search for the mouse driver.
Recently bought a so-called "GMX-1" mouse and cannot use windows mouse driver.
A few quick search, then found out this mouse required another type of mouse driver.
It work perfectly.

Its perfect again

I think I know what happened, these last 2 or 3 times I've installed the OS and on different machines, windows update gets stuck on checking for updates so this time I used the Windows offline update tool which updated about 200 updates and something must've gone wrong.

Now I've installed WIN7 X64 again and updates got stuck again but I tried another solution that worked perfectly.
Just in case anyone has the same problem this is what I did https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4TsEU2wUgp4

I find it very strange that this been happening consecutively lately, maybe it's just another way of MS forcing us to go to win 10, wouldn't be surprised.
