I'm having problems with input lag in CS 1.6.

Think it was even worse with vsync on, but now I have turned it off and still having problems. It isn't there all the time, but occasionally it comes. It's very annoying. You feel your aim becoming very sluggish for a short period.

/Pointer speed: 6/11
/Enhance pointer precision: "off"
/Mouserate: 500 Hz
/Mousefix: MarkC_Windows7_MouseFix (Windows7_MouseFix_TextSize(DPI)=100%.reg)
/Launch Options: -freq 120 -noforcemparms -noforcemaccel -gl -w 640 -h 480 -full -32bpp
/No mouse driver installed

Haven't tried too see if my running programs may be causing it. I've included a list of my processes. I notice opera.exe uses a lot of memory (I only have 2 GB RAM).

I would say first off, the mouse has no drivers installed which might be causing a problem. If the mouse is a wireless mouse, the lag might be coming from that.

Otherwise, The problem might lie with EasyAnticheat. Is this a stand alone program? can you run the game without it and see if it still lags? or is this required for Steam?

The website for this program said that anti-virus might affect easyanticheat. What anti-virus are you using and can you disable it for a minute and run a game.

Are you getting lag in Single-player?

I'm using Intellimouse Explorer 3.0 (not wireless (you see I have tweaked mouserate)). Not sure if mouse driver will do any good. EasyAnticheat is a stand alone anti cheat used when playing clanwars (it's in allow list of my AV). I'm currently using Vipre antivirus, but the problem occurred when using NOD32 also.

I do not know if it happens during singleplayer. As I said it happens occasionally, so it could prove difficult troubleshooting.

I'm considering reverting back to XP. I had hoped this was something others have had problems with and fixed.

what is your gfx card? I had input lag on a GMA950 intel integration untill I messed with settings. This being on XP though, the problem could carry if your gfx card sucks. Or rather get worse in this case.

The card should be competent. Maybe I could try an alternative driver.
