Hello!Hope I'm in the right area.
For the last few months my mouse has been freezing(1-5 sec's on average)quite regularly.before that there where no issues.
now I have tried pretty much everything imaginable:
4 different mice(3 diff brands)
reformat
diff hard drive
diff bios
tried all 4 sticks of ram seperately
tried video cards seperately(3 diff driver versions)
with/without sound card
every usb port
no o/c

It happens pretty much any time,desktop/websurfing/gaming
It also happens in the Bios.I have a bad feeling its the mobo,Thoughts?

From reserach I think you need to check your PSU, that model is notoriuosly under powered especially in the graphics power. The lowish capability of the cards doesn't help, to me the problem seems to be a redraw\refresh rate of where the pointer should be.
It's worth checking out.

could you try again on the scheduled tasks? List is empty which is very unusual.

Oh yes, current CCleaner version is 3.18.1707

I don't know if that is why the list is empty as I've never had an empty list on any version.

So far I've found nothing wrong in your install list, but still need to check a couple of them.

If you simply power up your computer and ONLY browse the internet-no team speak, no social sites, then does the cursor still freeze?

Your startup list reflects that Microsoft Security Essentials is installed which is excellent.

Are you sure that you do not have Microsoft Security Essentials installed?

When you say, "freezes in the bios", what do you mean?

The newer Mobo bioses are UEFI,which means they are used with a keyboard or mouse,The mouse will also freeze when in the bios, which i believe the O/S isn't even up/loaded or any drivers .

have tried with MSE both installed/uninstalled,there was no difference

looks like we're crossing paths as we answer each other. excellent.

Now, since you freeze even within the bios, I'm inclined to suspect hardware problems.

What's the chance that you have a heftier power supply that you can swap with your present one?

Guess we are going to need to run about 6 tests with MemTest86+ over your memory.

Also, please take the cover off and blow and all dust out. Get a can of compressed air for that task.

Earnhardt, we will just have to agree to disagree, I did look at several places, including Corsair who according to their forums have had just the problem I suggested, which wasn't expected.
Anyway you don't sound rude, it's an opinion, a suggestion from what I have researched on your behalf.
You say you have swapped out just about everything else, so you need to be looking at a constant !

chance of having bigger than a 1200w psu laying around..Nil..lol
cleanliness, about as clean as an operating theatre, once a month, sometimes twice system is completely cleaned, all fans,heatsinks..etc.

maybe this will help with the psu worries:
I play BF3,I have run the cpu at 4.0G,both cards(crossfire) at 6970 clocks, game on ultra on a 1920X1200 monitor,Hardware monitor shows max draw at 680Watts,Even when the mouse freezes, the game is still playing smooth as butta...I just cant move for those few seconds.

Ty..and I hear ya.oh another thing..I had no mouse freezing for about 5 days, until last nite I was telling a clanmate after he asked how the mouse issue was....it returned about 20 mins later...Karma.

The reason why I'm kinda more suspect of the mobo is because of the freezing in the Bios.
Will run memtest now/have run thee windows one with all passes.

Earnhard,
And if you cease and desist from ALL overclocking, does the problem go away?

If yes, then slowly work your overclocking up to find the "trip" point.

Just checking: Have you visited the ASUS site to see if there is a bios update, if there is a chipset update, if there are any driver updates?
