Mouse misfires and brings up right-click menus when I left-click

For the last few months I've had problems with my mouse misfiring. The main problem is when I click on the left I get right click menus, and sometimes it seems to be going completely haywire! Computer is 6 years old.
1. I have tried two new mouses. The first one was wireless and it never worked. Then I tried a corded mouse (like the original) and it worked for a couple of months and is now misfiring again.
2. I tried to change the port and that doesn't seem to be helping.
3. Of course if this has been happening over a period of months, restarting the computer is useless.
4. I've run super anti-spyware and window virus checks multiple times and that doesn't change anything.

Maybe the right and left buttons are switched.
Open Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Devices and Printers right click on the mouse - Settings / properties

Misfiring is normally a broken mouse switch. Use a new mouse.

this is the third mouse I've used in 3 months.

It settings it said it set for right-handed use.
