Solved Mouse problems

you may PM/VM Ciara, She does all the GFX work and mentioned a mouse which has some good qualities. Razor something or other I think.

The problem persists even with a brand new mouse, I've been scanning for malware for the better part of the morning & found nothing. This is driving me up the wall, it seems to only start happening during the weekends. I'm almost out of ideas; any suggestions?

+Another thing started happening, one or two icons on the desktop blink very fast with the icon selection thing selecting from one to the other very fast. This has me thinking it must be a virus...

Two suggestions....when it is doing it, kill the internet and see if it goes away.....second....try a different monitor cable...if possible a different type....

Yeah, I've noticed some internet activity even when the connection is disconnected(not physically)-both through Rainmeter & the activity light on the modem(which is in another room). But the thing is, that the problem rears its ugly head even when there's no connection, usually on the weekends.
+ SuperantiSpyware detected this as a virus, I think it's a false positive, as it's the driver/utility for my new mouse.
Why try a different monitor cable?

Try this go to control panel/mouse/pointer options/, uncheck "enhance pointer precision"....If that fails try using a paper with a grid pattern on itFree Online Graph Paper / Grid Paper PDFs Make sure nothing is in the optical well.....if all that fails it could be interference thus the monitor cable suggestion

As well as dust bunnies optical mice are prone to problems like yours when; There is a build up of muck on or around the little pads that are stuck to the bottom of the mouse.
Also,when the surface on which you are using the mouse is causing the light to split, this can also happen when using a mouse pad. It maybe worth checking out.

It must have been my "old" Logitech gamepad, I unplugged it & haven't had a problem since (almost 2 weeks).

That"s what I couldn't remember....sometimes I have junk fall on the extra keyboard....makes the system do very strange things......

Guys, I had the same issues with the mouse pointer running away like some drunk dancer.... until I found out it's something to do with the mouse being too sensitive; so sensitive that it picks out little unevennesses in the mousepad and starts running about.
I don't know what exactly it is, but I solved the issue this way: Control Panel->Hardware And Sound->Mouse->Pointer Options->Play around with the pointer speed bar till you solve the problem. Worked fine for me, give it a try. If nothing works, just comsider replacing the mouse or the mousepad.

Solved!
It was definetly the gamepad causing problems, one of the analog sticks(left) was probably abused too much during intense gaming & now pulls ever so slightly to the left almost all of the time. I'll try to open it up & fix it if possible, if not just buy a new one.
I want to thank everyone for the help & suggestions, it helped me pinpoint the cause of this annoying problem.
