When I move my mouse over some link, the url identifier info fades too quickly to read. I filled in my System specs in my profile as best as possible. Thanks for any help.

If you keep your mouse on the link, it will not fade.

Do you know of a way to turn this feature off?

Yes, the url info does fade, and quickly, when I leave my mouse over the link. It seems as if the system is doing a quick refresh, as it were. This has been happening for a while. It must have occurred after some installation or update of something on my system. I have no clue. If there is a way to adjust it, I would love to know.

Which browser are you using? Or does it happen with the system itself?

I have actually now narrowed it down to my browser, Firefox 4.0.1. I recently did a check by running Firefox in SafeMode (ie: no themes, add ons, apps loaded - just the defaults) and it still happens. So, I guess it is not really a Windows problem, but one with Firefox. I have posted a question on their Help site, too.

In a related post about IE9, user Bongo pointed out the Status-4-evar add on to bring back the Status Bar in FF4. That might solve your problem.

I'm sorry, I don't understand your answer. Could you please elaborate?
Thank you.

Status-4-evar is a Firefox 4 (FF4) add on that adds Status Bar to FF4. Status Bar is the annoying space consuming bar accross the bottom of a browser that displays useless information such as the target URL and Certificate availability. It will display a target URL for as long as it is hoovered over.

https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/status-4-evar/

I want to find a similar add on for IE9 so that Status Bar may be hidden (along with the annoying URL popups).
