Hi, Im having difficulty finding the move window function in the "right click menu, when clicking on task bar application icons"

This keyboard method is incredibly useful for me as I have dual monitors and usually have the 2nd monitor turned off, - - so when I leave the media player app on the 2nd monitor I want to move it back via the above method.

(edit: and yes ive right clicked on the firefox icon in the first right click menu escalation)

I have seen it in win7 but it seemed to disappeared..

TY

Hello Anna,

You would need to press and hold Shift + right click to see the context menu for a item on the taskbar instead.

Hope this helps,
Shawn

How to move a window

So a window opened for me off the screen. Yes, I have a docking station and run dual monitors as work.

So I closed the application and reopened it. Opened two instances of the application.

Anyway, I went to Google and searched for: right click move option. I was directed here to the post. (I often get good answers from SevenForums handed to me by Google).

However, this post let me down.

I tried Shift + Click. I got the following options:

Cascade
Show windows stacked
Show windows side by side
Restore all windows
Minimize all windows
Close all windows

Where was the Move button that was supposed to show up?

Well, the problem was that I had two windows open.

The Shift + Right-click only works when only one instance is open. It doesn't work when two instances were open.

So there must be a second way to do it.

My manager actually found it that you have to hover over the icon, wait for the small square box representation of your window to show up and then right-click on that.

If you don't understand, I have screen shots here:
How to move a window that is off the screen in Windows 7?

Hope this helps the next guy who finds this post and shift + right-click doesn't work.

Move your mouse to the icons on the status bar and wait for the thumnails to show up.
Then move your mouse on the one you want to drag, right click on it and you will see.
