Can I a move a folder containing junction links*? Will this cause any problems?

*a folder that has had a junction created for it. Ex. A folder (called Star Craft) under User>My Docs>Games, that contains a junction at My Docs. I want to move the folder Games (which contains the folder Star Craft) to a different location (straight under user).

Also, I've been warned about doing this, "Be careful though to not create a junction which links to a parent(higher) folder which contains the junction or you will create a endless loop." http://www.sevenforums.com/general-...ders-new-location-default-my-documents-2.html

Could anyone please explain better what this means? Could you give an example? Is the thing that I want to do going to face this problem?

Thanks in advance for your help!:)

This is what I tried and seems to work:

- Create a folder named parent on desktop with some other nested folders, it looked like this:

\Desktop\parent\docs\Games\game1 - game1 is a symbolic link to a desktop folder game1 (inside there is a txt file which has a shortcut on dektop)

- Then I moved the Games folder under to parent
- created a new symbolic link under docs named Games to the moved folder under parent
- opened shortcut and it worked

In explorer the path to games1 under moved folder is still
\Desktop\parent\docs\Games\game1

If I open the txt file from shortcut before creating the 2nd symbolic link, it still opens but the shortcut path in properties changes to the new path (and perhaps break for certain programs)

Hope this helps
