Moving Icons in Netbook

I have just purchased an Asus Eee 1015PED Netbook. How do I move Icons around the display. I thought I could just Drag and Drop them but I must be doing something wrong because it isn't working. Any help appreciated.

Hi,

Just right-click the desktop and select 'View' then de-select 'Auto-Arrange Icons'.
