Moving Office to anothe PC

Almost 3 years ago, I purchased Microsoft Office 2010 Home and Student version with 3 licenses. I installed them in 3 Windows 7 32 bit machines, my main PC, my Laptop and my audio work station. I'm going to get a version of Windows 7 64 bit and do a clean install on a new SSD in the main system.

Can I uninstall Office on say, the audio workstation and reinstall it in the Windows 7 64? Will I have activation issues? It should run on the 64bit OS withoout issues, right?

I've got the exact same Office version and license. I've only installed one license to one PC, so haven't faced your issue.

My understanding is that these licenses CAN be reinstalled when hardware changes. I don't think you'd have a major activation issue--you may or may not have to actually talk to Microsoft on the phone. I doubt it.

But--you say you want to install an SSD with Win 7 64 bit on "main system".

If so, why would you bother uninstalling Office on audio workstation and then re-installing it on main system?? I'd just reinstall the same "main system" Office license on the SSD after you get Windows installed on it.

By the way--the last I heard, MS is still recommending 32 bit Office on 64 bit Windows installations. It seems that 32 bit has fewer compatibility issues with certain Office add-ons. So stick with 32 bit Office.

I am going to dual boot 32 and 64 versions on the same MB/CPU/memory (maybe add anothe 4gb), thats the 'main system' thing. And I guess I figured only 3 licenses can be active at a time, so, thats why I'd have to 'move' one to the differnt OS.

But, good to know it'll be minimal hassle - hopefully.

Are you planning on dual booting Office 32 bit & 64 bit on the same computer?. If so then you may have problems. Apparently conflicts occur between them.
Someone else may have an answer but Office help warns against it.

Perhaps I said that poorly. The Office suite i purchased is the 32 bit version... but I plan on installing it in the Windows 7 64 bit OS, that I will have on a separate drive, on the same PC that another drive has Windows 7 32.

You do realize Windows x64 will run x32 programs, right?

yes... I do realize that. I'm just guessing Microsoft will be pissed if I'm installing 3 licenses on 4 devices. That is why I'm removing it from my DAW before I add it to my Win7 x64 drive/OS.
