Mozilla and Their Future

I have always used Firefox since the day it came out as Phoenix. Today I am having a real hard time trying to figure out what in the heck they are doing. I was using Fx 33 Beta 3 and then MajotGeeks came out with Fx32 Beta 4. I installed it and then it updated automatically to a different build of Beta 4.
The Mozilla Firefox Download site still has Beta 3 as a download:



Today they have come out with Fx 32.0.2 but Fx 33 Beta 4 is nowhere to be found on a Mozilla Site except the FTP:\ site.

The version of Fx 33 Beta 4 was crashing so many times that I removed it and went back to using the Final release. No wonder Chrome is surpassing Firefox in usage.

If you go to Mozillazine and look at today's build and then click on the Prior Beta 3 Build, the link takes you to Fx 31 Beta 3. This is just nuts.

Strangely enough I have just today returned to Firefox after several years with Chrome, I am past the Daily Build phase so am just interested in the final release. Wa suprised how much the basic look and feel was similar to Chrome, (shared history I suppose), but am impressed so far. The issue with chrome is that they appear to be depriciating a lot of older technology support, in that a few of my media sites were not working, all are working fine in FF.

If the content providers decide to hold out onto technologies like Flash and Silverlight, while Google reduces support we may see an upturn in market share. I'm all for advances in technology such as HTML5 but browsers have to support the older tech untill the vast majority of providers are fully conforming to the "New" standards

I played with Mozilla Firefox new din and ling browsers and gave up and went back to Firefox 28.0.

Pale Moon is my back up browser. I used Nightly builds from Fx 3.0 thru about Firefox 20. It go to be too much of an ordeal. So I moved on to the Beta Builds which was working out OK until this mess.

I suppose Firefox's goal is to perform like Chrome and after looking briefly at it look like Chrome

Now that Chrome has entered the 64 bit world there might be a small opening to expand users if they get it right while Chrome might possibly struggle working out the new bugs that Internet explorer has also handled very well in 64 bit but fall some what short in 32 bit with third party add-ons,
ie11 is supposed to change that with flash built in but all it does is complicate flash uninstall imho :/

I used to use FF due to its great plugins but now I don't even use it anymore. I did not know that there are so many versions already.

If you're having issues with Firefox I'd suggest uninstalling with RevoUninstaller using the Advanced uninstall to remove all traces of Firefox, and then download a fresh copy from Mozilla's main site, not from a third party site. You can get back the look of Firefox 4-28 with Classic Theme Restorer, and Classic Toolbar Buttons. I was just updated to 32.0.2 today, and it has been flawless (as all versions have been for me). Here's a screenshot of 32.0.2 with those two Add-ons.

The above is what I do but I do not have a problem with the Browser, my problem lie with Mozilla. It appears that Mozilla is not going to release a Beta 4 as Majorgeeks has Fx33 Beta 5 ready to download.
Mozilla still has Fx33 Beta 3 postedf??? I think that I will stay with 32.0.2 until Fx 33 goes final.

If I wanted Firefox to look like Chrome I would use Chrome.

When Mozilla quiets screwing up Firefox and settles down I will update to the newer one.

I have been using firefox myself for a number of years now and have really not had any issues thus far. For a browser that is not charged for; I would say its a pretty good one. I used chrome for a short time; but imo i did not like it compared to firefox.

If you do not use the The Classic Theme Restorer , Firefox looks really bad. It looks just like Chrome and since Google is Mozilla's money cow, they do what they are told. Like I said The Mozilla download ste still has FX 33 Beta 3 and MajorGeeks and other third party sites are promoting Fx 33 Beta 5. Somewhere with Mozilla there is a disconnect. I have used Firefox since it was called Phoenix so I have used it since day one.

Well the main Mozilla site finally has Beta 5 posted to DL. I ques there never was an official beta 4.
