Hello, I'm having issues with my outlook account.
It actually started on outlook 2007, but went ahead and upgraded to 2010.

Whenever you restart or click on outlook for the 1st time, it'll open the program.
After you exit off the outlook and try to open it back up, it won't open.

The only way is to open the task manager and end the processes... which is about 4 processes... but it keeps reappearing, over and over.

and the desktop icon won't open outlook.

is there anyone that can help?

much appreciated... thanks

Do you have iTunes installed? If so, you could try to disable the iTunes add-in that is in Outlook. Go to File, Options, Add-Ins then select Go at the bottom of the screen. It will display a dialog box and you can uncheck iTunes.

Hi,

I have seen this when Outlook has Add-Ons installed, when you close outlook an Add-On can stay active (Outlook.exe waits for that Add-ons process to stop) so Outlook.exe stays open which then prevents you from opening the program again as it thinks it is already running.

You can try the following from this article - The Outlook window closes, but the application continues to run when you try to exit Outlook

Sorry, i missed that this article is more aimed towards 2000 - 2003 however the principle is the same, check all your add-ins and if need be, disable them 1 at a time to see which one is causing the issue (if any that is :))

I've tried disabling all the add-ins and still the same the problem. The process sometimes closes and sometimes it stays open. I've read something about deleting a profile.. going into the register and doing something was a solution, but not sure.
I've read about Apple add-ins could be the problem, but it wasn't any help.

I apologize if I didn't state the operating system and etc.

Windows 7 pro. 64 bit
MS Office 2010

Outlook won't open after closing it. Clicking on it gets the busy icon, then nothing.
Task Manager has the OUTLOOK.exe process still running around 800,000k (memory)
More OUTLOOK.exe process if you keep clicking it. Ending all of the processes is the only way to reopen it, besides restarting the pc.

Thanks for any help and looking forward to using this forum more often!
