iko22 - thanks, but no go on either. I have 2 mp4 attachments but system says invalid. On quest 1 - I held down the control key = no go. Sound Recorder appears in nearby position as b4. Quest 2 - I'm not sure where a default save window is, let alone creating a shortcut. So I used Explorer and addressed it to folder location, but when record/save it still went to Documents = no go.
1. Sorry to hear - I'm on Windows 10 at the moment, so I am unable to try it out as per the question. It works on Windows 10 Voice Recorder app; not that is much good, if you don't have the other OS.
2. Apologies for the confusion. Lets try again:
The "Save Folder" I am referring to is in
User\Documents, sometimes shows as
user\libraries\documents. It is the location where SoundRecorder saves it's recordings.
A. To create a new shortcut pointing to your customised location.
Create a new shortcut in
User\Documents then
browse to and point it to your customised folder, "
C:/music/sound recordings". That will setup a custom shortcut to your desired (or preferred) folder.
This is the same as OPTION FOUR from this Seven Forum's tutorial :ar:
Shortcut - Create for a File, Folder, Drive, or Program in Windows .
If you have any problems setting up a suitable shortcut, post again on this thread.
B. Using the shortcut to arrive at the customised folder
Once, you have a shortcut setup as outlined, then you can use the shortcut to your advantage when you go to save a SoundRecording.
For example:
1.
create sound recording.
2.
Stop the Sound Recording, and the Save Window automatically opens at default location.
3. Instead of saving at the default location,
click on the visible shortcut that you just created, and the Save Window will update/refresh at the new customised location.
4.
Save your SoundRecording at the new customised location.
