In thread Video not even recognized as such (again) post by "coffeebreak" my curisoty sent me on a hunt for MSE.

Now I have an itch that needs to be scratched

I cannot find Microsoft Security Essentials (MSE) on my machine. (Win-7 PRO x64)
Following instructions on How to Disable Microsoft Security Essentials Temporarily I cannot locate MSE.

Start_Security search failes to find MSE.png

Nor in Start -> Programs etc, etc
I can find "Local Security Policy" but not MSE ?

I am running Free Bitdefender 2017 _PLUS_ VoodooShield.
- for memory in Win-XP; MSE was disabled by major AVs. ?
I thought I would at least be able to look at MSE
It is about 15 years since I saw MSE window and now I cannot recall what it looks like :o

---------------
SPECS:
Win-7 PRO x64
Free Bitdefender 2017
Voodoo Shield (whitelist AV)

On my computer MSE is listed in Program Files as Microsoft Security Client.

Also have a look in Programs & Features under Control Panel & see if Microsoft Security Essentials is listed, if not then it's not installed on your computer
