Solved MSRT -the end?

Hi friends,
MSRT on a monthly cadence as part of Windows Update - not updating at all since February...
is it the last version?
the end of MSRT?

Microsoft generally releases the MSRT on a monthly cadence as part of Windows Update or as a standalone tool. (For exceptions, see Skipped releases.)

Skipped releases
The following months do not have an MSRT update:

• December 2023
• December 2024
• March 2025
• April 2025

I already thought that Microsoft would eliminate MSRT or stop updating it (like MSE which is no longer updated via wu). Let's see what happens next month....

MSE can automatically get AV updates for itself (but not through windows update) by installing Easyfix51044, details here:

I presume that MSE stopped getting updates through Windows Update because MS changed something on the update servers that required anything querying for updates to be TLS 1.1/1.2 capable. Apparently Win7's Windows Update isn't. I suspect the same changes may prevent it seeing recent MSRT updates too. The most recent one that my Win7 can find today in WU is version 5.129. That was released around the same date as the last MSE definitions WU found, version 1.423.125.0.



Windows 10/11 has seen three further MSRT versions since then.



The latest MSRT (currently version 5.132 from February 2025) can still be downloaded and run manually in Windows 7.

thats my situation on win 7
last MSRT updated via WU , as well as MSE (till 27.2.25)
