Probably not - but there were also off-forum things happening, and it was not meant as a personal attack, simply a comment that 'richnrockville had not bothered to read his own references.

Full retail versions of Win7 are expensive. I alway opt for OEM versions - $80 for Home Premium at Newegg. Only limitation is that the license has to stay with the PC where it was first installed. Else it is all the same.

Sorry - please read BOTH sets of License terms - the OEM SB terms (which effectively prohibit installing OEM SB licenses for own use) AND the EULA - which together make plain that the End-User of a self-installed OEM license can expect NO assistance from MS whatever, under the terms of the licenses that said user has agreeed to.

A Retail license entitles the user to a certain amount of support - the OEM license effectively means that the user is on their own, and MS can turn around and say 'tough noogies, it's your problem , not ours'.

They *could* also sue the System Builder (i.e. the end-user/installer) for breach of licensing terms.
