I am in my device manager and am unable to update my Multimedia Audio Controller device. I have been unable to use my headset for gaming and I was thinking this could be the problem. My computer was also assembled by a friend who is better with computer than I. I do not know very much about the inner working of PC's so any help with this situation would be wonderful! Thank you

Hi,

Follow the below mentioned steps in order which could fix the issue:

Click "Start". Right-click the "My Computer” icon. Choose "Properties," "Hardware" and "Device Manager."

Click "Sound, video and game controllers". Right-click the multimedia audio controller and choose "Update Driver". Click "Next". Allow Windows to search its driver database for updated drivers.

Go to the sound card, motherboard or computer manufacturer website. Go to the download section and check for updated sound card drivers. Download the drivers to your computer if you find an update.

Double-click the downloaded file. Follow the on-screen instructions to go through the driver installation. Generally you choose an installation location, agree to the license agreement and click "Next" until the installation is complete. Restart your computer.

I tried to up date it from the device manager and it said "Windows could not find driver sowtware for your device". Side note, "Multimedia Audio Controller" was not under "Sound, video and game controllers", It was under "Other devices".

I have also gone to ASRock's website and downloaded the sound driver from there and nothing has changed. However, the ASRock site does have some specific directions to do something through the BIOS when the computer is booted up.
