Multiple Blue Screens, no clue what to do.

Hello, this is my first post and I don't have much experience with PCs so bear with me. I have been getting numerous blue screen errors in the past few months varying in frequency. Recently it's become almost impossible to play any games as I always crash within 20-30min of opening the game (World of Warcraft). It appears I can sit on my desktop running Google Chrome, Teamspeak 3, and Steam for very long amounts of time for multiple hours without anything happening.

- I did a fresh re-install of Windows 7 64 Bit a few days ago, I continued to experience numerous crashes.
- Afterwords I decided to remove one of the two 2GB RAM sticks inside my computer hoping that it was a issue with the memory. I restarted and the blue screens appeared to have stopped for about 2.5 days, I could run WoW and Battlefield: Bad Company 2 without errors or crashes.
- Earlier today my luck ran out and I received more blue screens, appearing to be the exact same ones I had before taking out the RAM.
- Usually when I try to restart my computer after the blue screen the fans will instantly become very loud and then go low and then loud again then low, and etc. I have to leave it off for a while to let it start up quietly.
- I have the latest video card drivers installed (11.7)

- 64 Bit Windows 7 Home Premium
- Nope, re-installed multiple times before.
- Re-installed using OEM Disc from CyberPower
- 2 Years I believe
- 3-4 Days

-ATI Radeon HD 5870
-AMD Phenom II X4 965 Processor 3.4GHz
-2GB of installed RAM at the moment (have another 2G stick)
-Motherboard: GA-770T-USB3

I have attached 8 or so mini dumps of various errors I have been receiving, I appreciate any help you can give, I am getting really frustrated with not being able to play any games. I will try to reply as quickly as possible thank you for your patience.

Hello Celestor, welcome to SF!

You have multiple dump codes in there. Most seem to point to Graphic (directx) drivers. One points to a usb device... Hard to pinpoint exactly at this stage.

Let's save the possible usb problem for later, I suspect it is more your graphic drivers/directx...

Please help us by fully entering all data in your system profile?

Your DirectX drivers that are mentioned in the dump, should have been updated to the latest through Windows Update. Please check in your Maintenance Center that all updates are completed. Your logs say there's been some trouble in doing that..

If needed go here to find your latest directx drivers directly: Download Details - Microsoft Download Center - DirectX End-User Runtime

Please post back results after reboot and testing?

And please put in all your RAM. This is good for demanding games + if it part of the problem, they need to be in to test anyway....

Well, I played WoW for 6 hours straight or so without any problems or crashes. I exited the game and launched BF3 Alpha Trial and began receiving tons of crashes on start up. I have lots more minidumps and I will upload them in a few minutes.

Ok, that will tell us more. I see no dumps yet though...

I'll check but expect the diff between those two games to be that the latter demands much more of your Graphical card an CPU/GPU power...

There seems to be something wrong with your ATI graphics drivers in these last dumps.

Please delete old carefully:
When upgrading your graphic driver you MUST remove all traces of the current driver. In order to do that we recommend using Driver Sweeper

Driver Sweeper is a fast tool to remove driver leftovers from your system. It's very important to remove your drivers on a proper way, because driver leftovers can cause problems like stability and startup problems. You can use it if you want to update/remove drivers from your system.

How to use ?

There are two methods to use Driver Sweeper.
Both methods achieve the same results. This method is always able to clean all files.

This method will delete remaining files upon reboot (if deleting failed). You can clean your drivers this way:

- Use the official uninstaller(s) of the driver(s) you want to uninstall.
- Reboot your PC in Safe Mode.
- Run Driver Sweeper and select what to clean.
- Analyse lists all the entries possible to remove, cleaning removes the entries selected.
- More drivers can be selected for the same cleaning process.

What can it be used for ?
The current supported drivers are NVIDIA (Display and Chipset), ATI (Display), Creative (Sound) Realtek (Sound), Ageia (PhysX) and Microsoft (Mouse).

Phyxion.net - Driver Sweeper
When it is removed then download and install the fresh copy, from the manufacturers' site if possible.
and update latest for you card :

That is true... but you forget that logs get updated and do tell us something. One dump is useless here, the memory was corrupted in such a way that the dump could not analyze anything. The other was indeed one of the graphic drivers.

So we now have two options open:

1. It is still a faulty driver - Graphics combination.
2. It is a temperature problem of the GPU

Do you have/use something to monitor temps with? Like cpu-z and gpu-z or HWMonitor (does both)?

Catalyst Control Center appears to show the temperature of the GPU, usually it hovers around 40-45C depending on room temperature. Don't know exact temperature during games, I'll check it out and let you know.

Ok, had another good look, incl multiple dumps. More than 2 of those show memory that has corrupted so much,,it could not even dump correctly.

I think it is time to check some HW, starting with memory:
Download a copy of Memtest86 and burn the ISO to a CD using Iso Recorder or another ISO burning program.

Boot from the CD, and leave it running for at least 5 or 6 passes.

Just remember, any time Memtest reports errors, it can be either bad RAM or a bad motherboard slot.

Test the sticks individually, and if you find a good one, test it in all slots.

http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/105647-ram-test-memtest86.html

PS. 6 passes will take up 6-8 hours....

Well this is somewhat humorous, I ran MemTest86 overnight on both sticks of ram at the same time, due to lazyness of having to take one out. I let it run for about 6 and a half passes. The results:

- 6 tests
- 0 passes
- 65773312 errors

I'll run it again tonight this time trying to single out bad ram/bad slot.

Alright so I ran all the sticks in all the slots for 3-4 passes each. No errors at all. I tried to run 2 sticks together like I did the first time, thinking that I could reproduce the 65 million errors, but nope, I couldn't.
